Rectifier Diodes

IXYS UK's wide range of Rectifier Diodes offer a World leading performance with high reliability. Devices are available with blocking voltages from 200V up to 6kV. These devices are suited to line frequency applications up to 400Hz including input rectifiers for variable speed drives, traction converters, trackside substations, welding and PC power supplies. These devices feature compression bonded alloyed Silicon wafer construction, low thermal impedance and high overload capacity, designed to survive even the most onerous applications.

Fast Recovery Diodes

IXYS UK's Fast Recovery Diodes are a great addition to any switching device and is usually the limiting factor in the design and performance of modern power converters. IXYS UK have developed an unparalleled range of Fast Recovery Diodes. These devices are available with blocking voltages up to 6kV and they are suitable for operation with DC link voltages up to 3.3kV and average current ratings to 4kA depending on the type. IXYS UK devices utilise compression bonding technology along with both alloyed and floating silicon technologies to deliver robust devices that are highly reliable in demanding applications. 

Fast Recovery Diodes are typically used as anti-parallel diodes in Gate Turn Off Thyristors and Fast Thyristor Inverters, Diodes for Choppers.

World-leading in semiconductor technology, IXYS UK's Ultra Fast and Ultra Soft Recovery Diodes are available from 1.7kV to 4.5kV in current ratings from 300A to 2500A. IXYS UK have adapted a unique manufacturing process and lifetime control to offer a class-leading trade-off between conduction and switching loses. The wide safe operating area (SOA) makes them ideal as freewheeling diodes for snubberless IGBT and IGCT applications.
