GD Rectifiers attends The Electronics Industry Awards 2023
Last week we attended The Electronics Industry Awards as a finalist in two categories: ‘Distributor of the Year’ and ‘Excellence in Innovation’. The Electronics Industry Awards organised by Components in Electronics (CIE) publisher Datateam Business Media celebrates the excellence and ingenuity across the electronics sector and has just celebrated its sixth year in running the event.
The award ceremony took place on 19th October at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden. The event was attended by some of the industry’s biggest players including Smiths Interconnect, Onsemi, Toshiba, Nexperia and Analog Devices.
This year’s event sponsors included Analog Devices, BWW, Camden Boss, Princeps, Napier, Electronics World, CIE, Fischer Electronik, Electronics for Engineers, Win Source and Display Technology.
CIE Magazine Editor Catherine Hackett opened the ceremony Electronics Industry Awards and thanked all the guests for attending, she went on to mention the awards celebrate our vibrant and diverse industry and rewards teams and individuals that contribute to our phenomenal industry. The awards symbolise the new products, technology and outstanding customer service we deliver giving everyone the recognition they deserve through the product, business and individual award categories.
Canadian comedian Sean Collins was the celebrity host for the award ceremony, and kept guests thoroughly entertained in between award acceptances.
The ‘Distributor of the Year’ award celebrated the distributors that have played a huge part in shaping our industry, the finalists were: DigiKey, Princeps, GD Rectifiers, Rochester Electronics and Win Source Electronics. DigiKey won the ‘Distributor of the Year’ award and Rochester Electronics were highly commended.
The ‘Excellence in Innovation’ award celebrated the hard work of those continuing to innovate and deliver excellence in all customer touchpoints. The finalists for this award were: Analog Devices, GD Rectifiers, Custom Interconnect, Keysight Technologies and Panasonic. Analog Devices won the ‘Excellence in Innovation’ award and Keysight Technologies were highly commended.

Whilst GD Rectifiers did not win an award, as an SME we were delighted to be a finalist amongst some of the industry’s biggest players!
