Selenium Suppressors
State-of-the-art selenium suppressors designed specifically for industrial power control applications.
Selenium Suppressors
Designed to protect semiconductors from damage caused by transient surges
Selenium suppressors are a popular choice for engineers, they are designed to protect semiconductors from damage caused by transient surges. Selenium suppressor ratings are determined by the cell size and number of cells in a series similar to the power rectifier, they are also rated by their voltage clamping factor and the amount of reverse energy in joules that they can absorb.
Our range of transient suppressors are used in a wide selection of applications that require protection of components in the circuit, such as motor generators and inductive components.
At GD Rectifiers, we are able to design and build selenium suppressors to a detailed specification, and can also supply OEM replacement parts from Westcode, International Rectifier, STC, Semikron and Automat. Their selenium suppressors are extremely reliable and have the ability to recover after surge failure which can make them ideal for security applications.
