Distributed Gate Thyristors

Distributed gate thyristors generally tend to feature high di/dv capability, high average current rating, low thermal resistance and double sided cooling and are commonly used for inverters, induction power supplies, resonant power supplies and pulse power.

IXYS UK Westcode is a world leader in distributed gate technology and offer a large range of capsule type distributed gate thyristors. These devices are available with blocking voltages to 4.5kV and average current 4kA, with tq from 10 to 300μs. IXYS UK Westcode’s unique distributed gate design and lifetime control features give these devices both high di/dt capability and fast, low recovery turn-off whilst maintaining a low on-state voltage drop.

IXYS UK’s distributed gate thyristors are suited to numerous applications, including: induction power supplies, high frequency inverters/converters, UPS and pulse power.
