Semiconductor Protection Devices

We offer a wide range of semiconductor protection devices including fuses, breaker diodes and power capacitors.

Semiconductor protection fuses are one of the most commonly used devices to protect against overcurrent conditions in power electronic equipment. They are specifically designed to reduce the I2t, peak let-through current and arc voltages during a fault.

Breakover diodes (“BODs”) are used to provide overvoltage protection of the thyristor and the protect against too fast voltage changes. Breakover diodes are protection devices, the high power semiconductor switch will change from a blocking state to a connecting state at their rated breakover voltage, triggered by a dV/dt pulse to the anode.

TVS diodes are a protection device designed to protect electronic circuits from very fast and often damaging voltage transients, such as lightning and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD).

DC-link power capacitors are designed for use in applications with IGBT semiconductors, and must also feature especially low inductances. DC link capacitors are used in circuits of inverters such as GTO, IGBT or thyristor controllers for DC and three-phase drives.
